When English is not your first language
Conversation (young students)
Business English
Conversation classes with preschool, elementary and middle school students are a combine tactile activities and writing to help emphasize vocabulary.
Business English lessons are tailored to specific industries, include a wide range of topics, such as contract negotiations, email, customer service and networking.
Interview Prep
One-on-one, or small group classes that focus on your specific industry. Lessons are recorded and transcribed so we can discuss pronunciation and enunciation, ways to respond better, and how to be more confident with your delivery. Interview prep also includes editing and re-designing your resume, writing cover letters and networking with other people in your field.
Debate prep
Debate prep focuses on understanding and confidently using transitions to help set up your argument, as well as how to articulate your points and research precedents in English-language search engines.
Film and TV English
English-language movies and TV shows with subtitles are better and more plentiful than ever. But knowing the words doesn't mean you actually understand them or how to use them. Movies include LaLa Land and Love Actually. Television shows include House of Cards, Desperate Housewives and Don't Trust the B- in Apt 23.
Social Media
Posting in English, or developing an English version of your SNS accounts can help generate a global audience—if the posts are relatable. I teach you how to create witty posts, as well as cultural hot buttons to avoid.
Conversation (older students/adults)
World events, relationships, current topics, travel and culture dominate conversation classes for older students and adults.
English Literature
From the American classic, Little Women, to the French masterpiece, Madame Bovary, my English literate classes dissect why the author uses certain words, character development and, of course, vocabulary.
